The Site is located in Akkalkot, in south western part of Maharashtra, about 390 kilometres from the state capital, Mumbai and about 290 kilometres from Pune It lies on the banks of the river Krishna and is close to the Karnataka border. The town covers an area of approximately 6.43 square kilometres and has an elevation of around 477 meters above sea level.

The site is located in a very strategic location in the heart of Akkalkot town near Shree Vatavriksha Swami Samarth Maharaj Devasthan. Topographically the site has minimum contours making it almost flat except for the central transverse axis, which has a natural dam-like formation that divides the lake and the land of the site into two parts. This whole area is full of wild vegetation making it a natural habitat for different species of birds. The first part comprises of existing samadhis of the Akkalkot Royal family located at the center of the terrene and the second part comprises the lake, where Shri Swami Samarth’s Divya Darshan statue will be constructed.
